Guest spaceman
Evening all. I need to change this on my Mk4 XR3i but don't want to spend £200 plus getting Fords to do it! I have done one before but it leaked soon afterwards. Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to fit one without the spring coming off. What distance piece can be used to get it into position? Thanks guys.
Guest spaceman
Evening all. Has nobody fitted these themselves? Had a few views but no reply's, can anyone help? I think the best bet is to smear with grease on outside edge and try and get in in with finger pressure-is this right? Thanks
Guest spaceman
Good Morning. Can anyone help with crank front oil seal fitting advice on CVH this morning?
Admin Paul Posted September 23, 2009 Admin Share Posted September 23, 2009 Hi, i changed one on mine mate and wasnt that bad. I just used a typical silicone bathroom sealer tube and cut the bottom of it. This worked well cause it was hard plastic. Just make sure its sits centre before tapping it home. The hardest part was making sure the cam belt went on again in teh same place. Plenty of tip ex did that tho Use a genuine seal, £20 from Fords Paul
