Taking Engine Out Mk4

its a mk4 xr3i, cvh efi engine, and its coming out...., well i would atke it out if i could!

Im in the middle of stripping bits of the engine to change it over, im trying to leave gearbox in car, so ive taken top drivers side engine mount off, front gearbox mount is off totaly, starter motor, alternator, all the wires are dissconected, all intake plastic bits airbox etc are out, radiator, fan out, fuel pipe sill on ( for now) engine on engine hoist, back gearbox mount is unscrewed as well

The big steady bars are connected to the gearbox still?, do i need to undo these ( gearbox staying in car )

engine will slide to hit wing of car but gearbox still in the way, ie only ever worked on calibra engines, is this like the older calibras , ie i have to find end of gearbox and take a plate of and pul the shaft out of the center of the clutch to free it up, or do i have to take more bits off

If i decide to take the gearbox out, how do the drivestafts come off the gearbox, any clips/screws? or do they just need a smack with a bar/hammer to undo them?

just as easy to drop every thing i find drive shafts with a bar behind knuckel will prise out with abit off force or if wont to leave in take engine mount off jack up more so on engine side get an engine crane and undo gearbox bolts out will come out that way but more chance damaging things

I was going to drop the front subframe etc and lift the car, but looking at the bolts, i dont want to disturb it, yet!

I cant get the gearbox back on , in the car, its loose apart from the steady bar and the driveshafts, the engine the same, ive just given up for today im going to have another go in the morning, plan now is to take driveshafts off, steady bar off and then lift engine out, gear box should just move out of the way if i cant get a few bolts back in.

I tried a 1/2inch round steel bar corner in the gap of the drive shafts and tried knocking them out, cant get enough force on , i will have to get a long crowbar in the morning and try that

They do just force out though?, no clips to undo?
