Guest ski1nz
hi all you may of read a few of my post before or even commented and helped. if not my escort's a red 1989 cabriolet with a mk5 xr3i zetec engine. I put it in for an M.O.T last week and failed on: 2 tyres, 2 side repeaters, front discs & pads, ball joint and handbrake. it also needed a wing mirror and quarter light glass which i've done along with the ball joint. 10 days retest period ends tomorrow which is shit, thats another fifty quid Going to tackle the rest of the work this week and book it in again, then i can finish the bodywork which isn't much at all hope to get it ready for the last of the sun and maybe catch an event or two will post progress

Guest ski1nz
Well the thing is i bought the car with the engine in. It still has the old loom but i think the ecu has been changed around. it runs fine but no where as near as it should do. it had a recent gearbox change but as far as i know its an original unit. As soon as it gets through the m.o.t i can get working on the engine, gearbox and electrics. just been to the garage to see the car and looks loads better know its got its wing mirror and glass back. it's currently having the brakes sorted best regards ski1nz

Guest ski1nz
Update: Just got a new roof off girlfriends dad who is also currently restoring a cab. My roof was slightly bent as it didn't latch or sit properly. the new roof is not perfect it has a slight rip or two but nothing major. i will selling the old one for a bit of change if anyone is interested, it will have the window intact and is not that bad condition maybe useful to someone. Also got two sets of rs turbo wheels off him, one set are white and need 3 tyres and the others are original with good tyres all round which is great because i needed to get two tyres for the m.o.t anyway. does anyone know where i can get hold of the wire that holds down the roof at the back between the window and boot, the only one i found was on ebay for a mk5 and they wanted loads for it. Guest ski1nz
Hi all its been a long time since i posted anything as i havnt been able to do much. The escort has been keeping warm tucked away in the garage. I've started to strip the rs wheels and will spray them white again but properly as they are horible at the moment. If i have enough i will powder coat them, any one know of prices? Once i fit new tyres and get a sidelight bulb and new fuel cap with key i can re m.o.t it. Then i can focus my attention on the few bits of body work that need some love to make it perfect. i will post some more pictures of the progress. best regards ski1nz
