Afternoon all.

Looking to smooth my front and rear bumpers to remove the trim recess at the top.

Can I just use bumper fill and plastic primer or would I be better off plastic welding and filling?

Thanks

If you use bumper filler it could prove quite expensive,

Plastic welding would be the ideal course of action,

However, when I did mine i used a 50/50 mix of regular polyester filler and fibreglass filler, this mix gives a really strong yet flexible filler though it does take a little longer to harden.

Also make sure you key up the inside and the outside of the recess with some 320grit paper as this will give a good surface for the filler to stick to.

Good luck!!!

Jez.

Yep, i did the same as Tacha, used Isopon Fibreglass P40 for the main filler and then scimmed the top with Isopon P38

Both products sand down real easy and the P38 goes over the top of the P40 real nice.

Don't overfill with the P40 when filling the gap, let the product rest just below the level line and then skim the top with the P38
