Guest cooldad175
I had such a great reply on my last problem with my roof, so I'm going to chance my arm and have another go. I just bought 2 new Goodyear tyres for the front as after 10,000 miles one was as bald as a coot (the guy thought I had racing tyres) and the other one was worn on one side. He shook the wheels and told me that the R/H front lower arm bush was worn and I had to get a new front arm at £50 + £40 for fitting + the steering would need to be realigned for another £40. Is he ripping me off or is this reasonable? All advice greatly appreciated.
Guest markeyboy
im guessing hes talking about the wish bone, iv never had to change one on mine yet, but i think they were around 25 quid when i changed them on my mk3 fiesta that i had b 4 that, it isnt really that difficult to change either, and yes the tracking could definatly need a nice set up
Guest swampy83
You can do it a lot cheper by doing it yourself and I got my tracking done for about £18 - £20, If you are going to fit it yourself try brakeryard.com or 1stchoice.co.uk if you put in what you are after they will find it and give you a price inc p&p Hope that helps

Guest Coop3r
The bushes on the lower arms do go,the prices for considering its a garage are pretty good, make sure you gett them changed in pairs, and also do get the tracking done after as then fact the bushes are new and have less play and that you have taken the front steering components off will cause it to be out and that will inturn cause your new tyres to wear unevenly and prematurely Hth Shaun
Guest Lee81
Not bad for a garage. You can do it yourself but beware if the bolts are seized as its easy to strip the nuts head off. Once that happenns you have to drop the entire subframe to get them out. Still need to get tracked after also. The best part out there is by QT which some motorist centres stock. Its a much stronger version than the ford one with a bigger ball joint and better bushes. Retail at 48 a pair last time i got some about 5 years ago. Still fine, the ford item fell apart after 6 months and cost £ 80 a pair.
