Help me some one please.

I have recantly got my hands on a 1993 cabby which was fitted with a 1.6I cvh engine. IT was dead so did an engine change and put in a 1.6i Zetec enginefrom a 98 escort. It runs like a bag nails. When first started it runs sweet but when the engine gets to its normal opperating temp (not hot enough for fan to kick in) the engines lacks power in a bad way. Then at times cuts out. I put the exhaust mannifold from the old cvh on the new engine yesturday and now it runs worse, its a nightmare to start and dies every time once its running. Question 1. The mannifold i fitted last night has a vacume block fitted and i then connected the vacume hose in order to sort out problem 1. Have i done the right thing. Question 2. Will i have to change the ECU if so is there an after market one or a way of changing the codes in the original one in order to get it to work in this car. Question 3. Am i going in the right direction in order to get the engine working sweet or am i banging my head against the wall, I have changed the spark plugs, air filter, mas airflow sensor, idle control valve, fuel rail, and engine. please please some one help me i am frustrated by the fact i have put so much effort into this car and now i whant to enjoy it. Thanks for reading this.
