Guest DaveG79
Does anyone know how easy it is to change a windscreen. The car is in a friends garage and unfortunately something has fallen off and cracked the scrren. The car isnt insured so i will have to fork out for it. Can it be done. If not has anyone ever had to pay for a new one and knows the price? All help is greatly appreciated
Guest DaveG79
A quick update for you all. Had a ring round on the phone to get some quotes Autoglass (rip off ********) £574 or if they fit they offered me a price of £475 + vat Autoglazing.co.uk were very competitive £275 incl vat and able to fit within 24hrs But the absoluter winner for customer service and knowledge is Halifax glazing ltd - £234 incl vat. They were the first ones to immediately know the car and advised on the seal trim. He was upset that it was £54 for the trim on a cab whereas its only £17 on a normal escort and he was gutted when he looked at the price of the window. If it had been a hard top with non heated it would have been £117 all in. Like i said the guy was gutted that he would have to charge me the 234 but when i told him of autoglass he was shocked. Just goes to show that if you ring round your local traders you can see some real bargains. Also forgot to add that even though they would be buying the £54 trim they wont charge me for it if they manage to salvage the old one.
