Guest clacky Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Seem to be getting some different views from my mates re the best oil to use in a Escort mk4 xr3i cabriolet (1990) Have checked the castrol site and they recommend Magnatec 10W-40 A3/B3 I have some noisy tappets and will hope that this will reduce as the previous owner (my step-son) probably used the cheapest oil he could find (doh !) when he last did an oil change Someone else on the forum recommends 5w/30 fuuly synth Castrol Edge so me velly confused !!
