Guest StarLoc Posted May 28, 2009 Share Posted May 28, 2009 i had a minor problem......the bonnet came open smashed window, bent the hinges and bonnet, the rest of the car is ok! luckily thre was no traffic on the road at all which is something for the bit just before the runcorn bridge at widnes I unbolted the bonnet and drove back, so now i need a bonnet, im adding the turbo engine to the car and i was going to add the rs vents to the bonnet so now im looking for a bonnet On ebay, i found this one with no vents http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=120390696796 and this one with vents http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=130287017402 will these both fit the car, a g reg r3i cabriolet? , or do i need to get a special cab bonnet? Guest StarLoc Posted May 28, 2009 Share Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) Im from toxteth, but work in runcorn on the astmoor,luckily i took the day off yesterday, probably good as the roads are normaly full and it was raining yesterday so it would have gone sliding further when i slammed on, today the roads were totaly empty and no rain, so no crash! Ive just been looking at the next bit back, the metal panel the wipers bolt onto, can i buy one of these anywere, the hinges have bent it a bit, i can straighten it, but might be easier if i can get one to weld a new one in, what is it called!? Guest stivy Posted May 28, 2009 Share Posted May 28, 2009 dont buy a new one m8, there are loads of second hand mk 4 bonets out there, ady has probably got most of them, but a lot cheaper than new, maybe u could even get one in your colour. no need to get it resprayed. Guest StarLoc Posted May 28, 2009 Share Posted May 28, 2009 Normaly id have got an old one, but i needed one quick as my other car ( calibra turbo ) is up in runcorn and its in bits after breaking down in germany (its now a good excuse to up the power a bit so taking some time) , so i cant get anywere till i fix this one the one from ebay they said id get it monday so im off work till then , i needed one that would post it to me quick , ive got a windscreen in the morning to sort the glass ive banged most of the damage from the scuttle panel were the hinges got it, its on the lip inside not realy on the outside but i will fit the panel when repainting it in a week or two Im not having that again, bonnet pins on all cars from now on ,old bonnet straightened a bit on for the weekend if i need to drive anywere , its going to look a real shed till i fit the bonnet Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
