Footwell Light Upgrade In The Mk6

I just fitted some footwell lights to my Mk6 last week thought i'd share the upgrade as it was realy easy

What you need

1 plastic bracket to hold light fitting for passenger side (drivers side is already there)

2 light fittings

1 bulb holder with enough wiring to go go from the passenger side light (there is already a hold holder taped to the loom on the passenger side)

2 bulbs

2 scotch locks

First the passenger side bracket clips into the dashboard. Get urself upside down and you'll see the slots that it fits into.

The buld holder is just there waiting to be untaped and a bulb slotting in.

Scotch lock the second bulb holder and thread behind the radio (best remove it out of the way) clip into light fitting and slot into bracket.

There may be a second bulb holder in the drivers side somewhere but i couldn't find it. Seems strange that they fit a bulb holder and no bracket on the passenger side and a bracket and no bulb on the drivers side. Any one now if there is one, would make the upgrade even easier?

The bulb holder for the drivers side is behind the removable dash trim by the steering coloum, no wiring is needed for this mod, both bulb holders are present, just the plastic retainer and two lenses and bulbs are needed, plus the yellow interior light relay if you don't already have one fitted !!!
