Guest rick76 Posted May 9, 2009 Share Posted May 9, 2009 hi all firstly i would like to say great forum and website i have just bought a 1994 'M' escort mistral cabby 1.6 16v 90ps 64k nearly fsh mk5b i think (the one with a smiley face lol) it's a great car though a few things need sorting firstly it has manual hood and windows which is annoying i have been poking round the car and found tied behind the door panels various wired connecter blocks doing nothing which am told are for electric windows and mirrors i thought great!! so had a look under the blanking plate near gear stick where the rocker switches go and can't see no wires for switches so i have half the solution fitting electric window am wondering if the wires for the switches maybe tied up somewhere in the loom and if there was anything i missed i needed if anyone can help i would be greatful secondly i got a new backbox fitted which was nice and shinny i noticed after the mile or so drive home it was covered in black soot it seems to drive ok no smoke even when revved hard i was wondering if this was normal or i may have a problem anyway sorry about the long post and thanks in advance also would it take much to fit power hood sorry thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fords only made 1 wiring loom for the escort range which covered all models ( LX thru to Ghia/Cabriolet), so there should be all the wiring to convert from manual windows to electric windows, to change from the manual roof to power roof you will need all the power rams, pipework & pump.
