Guest escortcab Posted May 7, 2009 Share Posted May 7, 2009 hi all, i have mk5 1.6 8v cvh and im after a bit of advice i replaced the clutch, release bearing etc but im still having trouble the gearbox is still whining and when i put it in gear and try to drive it drives like ive still got the hanbrake on and then there is a smell afterwards i suspect the gearbox can anyone clarify any advice would be greatly appreciated cheers pete Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Haddow Posted May 18, 2009 Share Posted May 18, 2009 randomness here but have you topped up the oil to the correct level? it may be that the release bearing has moved off its place when putting it back on, we had a nightmare of a job doing the same to an almera a couple weeks ago. is it a loud or quiet noise? does it affect gear changes in any what whatsoever?
