Guest dee1orean Posted April 25, 2009 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Has anybody thought of using Linear Actuators in place of the hydraulic rams for a power roof? As mine is a manual roof I was just thinking of options Actuators may actually be quicker, I don't know. I'd need to know the measurements for the hydraulic rams when they are fully extended so if anybody knows this info could you post it please!!! Escort Cabriolet Club Posted April 25, 2009 Share Posted April 25, 2009 I would say keep the factory operating system mate, its smoother, actuators would be a bugger to fit correctly and could be noisy, plus with the weight of the roof they could burn out if the correct power to weight units are fitted !!!
