hey i had this problem starts good everytime for about 2 weeks 'ish' then this morning didnt wanna know. i thought i sussed the starting problem that sounds similar to mine, the AA guy said the module was creating a good spark to the plugs just at a delayed time due to the module being faulty nothing to do with my timing, battery or coil. i'm changing it over tomorrow and the two they had from my spares place we £35 and £38 i considered it worth doing anyways to get it out the way.

sorry not that helpful, but they're rough prices to way up whether it's worth changing?

also i dunno if this is anything to do with the fuses or relays? but my headlight relay does wiggle it's way loose from the fuse box and my headlights go off mid driving, could be something to do with that maybe but obviously not your headlights? im no expert :S
