Guest trueiron Posted March 16, 2009 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Hi All Have a slight problem with my wifes 1.8 Mark 5 Cab In traffic it is getting warm and the cooling fan is not kicking in I have changed the Fan Switch this morning and still no joy I understand you can short the fan to work all the time - this would test the actual fan I suppose. Can anyone give me an idiots guide to doing this - am about as machanically minded as your average frog Shane Hello Shane, take the plug off of the the fan control switch and run a wire from one hole to the other (on the plug), this will short the fan to be on constantly. I would also advise you to check the fuse box to see if the fuse has blown for this circuit and not rely on this as a permanent fix.
