Guest BARRY
hi all on monday i had a new starter motor and a new clutch fitted , the problem is this morning when i started the car it started 1st time but as soon as i turned on anything electric or even pressed the accelarator all the revs dropped to zero and if i had the lights on or even the blowers on the revs dropped to zero , also the abs light came on when i pressed the foot pedal but this hasnt happened since, could it be anything to do with my clutch/starter replacement or is this just a coincidance if anybody can advise me i would be most gratefull, i have the battery on charge at the moment but the battery is only 6mths old so could it be the alternator ? Guest markeyboy
i would say so, mine had a silular problem when my power cable from the alternator broke, any thing electrical on the car started giving up, then the engine due to lack of electricity check the connections from the alternator to battery and connections from the starter motor to make sure nothing has gone adrift
Guest BARRY
hi i have replaced the alternator and recharged the battery , tonight i broke down yet again , the AA man said it was my alternator as the battery was not charging but i find this hard to believe as this is the second alternator fitted, could this fault be related to the new starter motor i had fitted , if anybody could advise me thanks barry
