Guest srmajury Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 ever since ive had the escort ive noticed some oil around the filler neck. at 1st i thought it was the cap and bought a new one but it still happened. just noticed there now where the filler neck meets the rocker cover is where the oil is coming from!! does this need welded and if so can it be done with the rocker cover on. or is there any kind of sealer i can use? cheers in advance steven Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest charlie74 Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 can you see any visible cracking round the neck? i would say your options are to fit a newer cam cover ( easy and cheap to do) or use some metal repair putty stuff,, mix up and smear a thin bead round it,, will need to be well cleaned and degreased,, i would say the cost is about the same give or take a fiver,, and if you go the cover route you can custom colour it to suit before you fit it,, also if its rotten enough to crack there chances are it will elsewhere too just my thoughts but i would go with a new cover Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
