Guest sean1379
Hi all, I am having a bit of a nightmare with my cab!! 1.6 efi There seems to be water coming into the airbox via the breather pipe?? And also the exhaust is sptitting out water quite alot but no loss of coolant from header tank at all. What would cause this? If anything there is too much water in the header tank? This on top of the idle problem i have i am slowly loosing the will to live... Any advice would be most grateful.
Guest Michael Tomlinson
Hello Ah the good old CVH,Do you run the car for long? as short runs will make loads of condensation in the breather system,Clean all the breather pipes,Crank case breather isthis pipe blocked its the one from the rocker cover to the crank case at the back of the block,What the cyclinder head like will the oil condition,Have known the metal breather pipe to be blocked onnthe rocker cover.Have you changed the breather manifold, the black plastic canister.Have you tried cleaning the idle speed valve,Take it off put some petrol in it and give it a good shake might work. Guest sean1379
thanks for the reply i have cleaned out all the breathers all seems fine apart from a the water. the black cannister which the breathers go into? that seems to have a lot of water in it but unsure as to how its getting there. the oil is as it should be, but i must admit to only running the car for short periods. i have replaced the icv which hasnt made much difference. could the quality of ht leads be a problem? i replaced them with unipart ones
