Best Ht Leads & Spark Plugs For Mk4 Escort Xr3i Efi?

Good Afternoon

What are the best HT Leads and spark plugs for apart from Kent Cam std EFI CVH MK4?

Have seen the Magnecor & Splitfire leads but seem to be a bit expensive at £65-£80

Have also seen Lumenition leads at around £50.

Are the more expensive ones that much better or is anyone using the Lumenition ones?

Are any of the above better than £30 std ones

Should I look at Motorcraft?

Also, what spark plugs are you guys using, std spec as per the book or others?

it depends on what you want really,, std leads and plugs are fine if your 99% daily driver with no other mods,, otherwise id heavily recommend the magnacors, standard leads are just that,, they get the job done and have a reasonable life span,, aftermarket ones generally handle a higher load over a hotter engine, less prone to failure/breakdown,, although i have heard mixed replys on radio suppression,,

 

at the end of the day your talking what ....£ 30 extra for a product that looks good( always inproves the look of an engine bay),, lasts longer( in most cases) and will work well with other mods such as an airfilter and exhaust mod.

ref the plugs,, good quality bosch or champion have always worked well for me, ie copper core with twin electrodes,, if you really want to push the boat out then iridium are excellent,, seems to actually increase the power of the spark,, but if its a daily driver i wouldnt worry about it too much,, just need a strong consistent spark
