wot mark escort you got them on? dont use the standard 225/45/16 tyres for starters! i always use 205/40/16.

you will also need uprated stiffer suspension, otherwise will catch the arches like you say.. i would recommend coilovers if you want to do the job properly, least that way you can higher or lower the car to the desired height. but they are expensive.

most importantly dont forget to use the proper "ghia" bolts when fitting these to mk3/4 escorts as the standard alloy bolts are no good, the colars are too small and dont fit the wheel properly, dont put a washer on them off a wheel nut as some will say to do,because by the time you have done all that you have about 3 threads holding the wheel on! very dangerous. you can buy the so called "ghia bolts" from speedshack, just tell them wot wheel your putting on wot car and they,l sort you out.

on the other hand if your fitting the 8j coz rims on a mk5 escort or later you wont need the ghia bolts as you should have nuts instead of bolts, and i believe they are the correct fitment for the coz rims, but dont hold me to that as ive never fitted a set on one.

hope this helps...

jason.
