Guest wiser
Hi, I have a mk 6 (1997) cabby and having had a mondeo I now miss the heated front screen. It obviously has the connector for the switch but how complicated (and costly) can it be to fit one? Cheers
Escort Cabriolet Club
Not at all mate, EnzO fitted one to his !!! He accidentaly 'Threw' a Hammer at his windscreen and the Insurance had to pay for a new one lol !!! :happy001: All he had to do was get the Duel Front and Rear Heated Window Switch, the conecting loom, and a relay, try a scrappy, ebay or even FORD for the parts, you might need a higher spec Fusebox but if the Cable for the Switch is there you might already have one !!! Guest wiser
Thanks for the reply. Just to check, presumerably there is a connector somewhere beneath the windscreen? As I said their is definitley one for the double switch. I'm not sure about the fusebox. Does the fuse go in the fuse box next to the battery, I saw a symbol somewhere. Cheers P.s. Did the insurance pay for a heated one or was there an 'upgrade' price. Cheers.
Escort Cabriolet Club
IIRC, EnzO got the connecting loom for the screen from the scrappy, not sure if it was tucked under the dash, send him a PM !!! As for the insurance, he just said it was a heated screen as they were an optional extra accross the range but standard on higher spec models !!!
