I wondered when you would ask that question, the violet/orange is the 12v+ supply wire and the black is the earth...hope this helps, yours is a mk 6 isnt it ?

Thanks.

Its the smiley face facelift.

Do i call it a mk6 or a mk5a or mk5b?Lol

It has mk5 rs/xr3i frt end,but the later rear lamps inner fog lamps in tailgate.

I tested the pump. Its dead quiet, not like the mk4 i used to own,but with direct 12v from battery i get fuel pressure at the release valve in the engine bay.(blue top tyre valve thinggy)

I have 12v at the coil also.

Checked imob, fine i think. Not pats on my car anyway.

The fusebox doesn't look too healthy and it is the original.Stamped may 93.

I have heard this is a very common problem. The heaters have already been bypassed with a separate ign live.

The interior lamp stopped working on the delay a couple of weeks ago.(works manually off the switch in the lamp, just not off the doors.doesnt illuminate or go off).

Would all off these happen if the fusebox was knackered.

Cranks but doesnt fire.no spark,or power to the fuel pump.no delay on lights.no heater.

Help.A new fusebox is nearly £300 from fords.

Thanks

Hmm, if its a mk 5 then the fuel pump wire colours should be black/red 12v+ and the brown wire would be the earth. Did you check the supply from fuse 5 that goes thru R9 to feed the fuel pump ?

brown and red wire has no power.pump worked with direct live tho.

Power going to fuses and relay can be felt clicking.

i think the problem is power leaving the fusebox after the relay.

When i fixed the heater this was the same.

I just dont know why i have no spark or pump power?

Is there a relay for the spark side of things near the fuel pump relay?

Could the whole of one side of the fusebox be knackered?

Fusebox now ordered :-(
