Hey,

Im thinking about what to do with my engine as I am bored and started planning things. Im wondering if it is worth stripping the engine down and rebuilding it. Im just wondering if the benefits are worth it? The engine runs well at the moment bar needing a couple extra engine revs needed when first starting but is fine after that. Has anyone done this and will recommend it or has anyone paid for it to be proffessionally done and would recommend that?

Cheers

i would say if the engine is running fine at the moment then it should be last on your list mate...having a rebuild will make all the differents, and the cvh engine is very easy to work on so i would suggest doing it yourself.

while its stripped out have you ever thought about putting an rs turbo engine in? its all the straight swap...

there is a benefit from rebuilding the original but if its not broke then don't fix it, but if you take the engine out you will be able to sort any engine bay problems out at the same time and maybe respray the bay.

It is last on my list, but with my foot in plaster my mind is wandering onto future jobs! lol.

I think it may be a case of seeing if i can do it myself when i get round to it and then run it til it goes or struggles then think about a swap.
