Solution To Leaking Roof?

Hi,

I'm a newish cabby owner and have just found a leak. I have trawled to forum to see if I can find a relevant solution but not sure.

My leak is coming in on the passenger side where the rubber seal on the roof eets the rubber seal at the windscreen. post-8652-1220780740_thumb.jpg.

Using a jug of water and pouring it down the drain channel in the rubber, it seems to be coming out of the 'hole' in the middle. It does not do it on the other side.

Is it ok to seal this with some mastic type sealant? ( I have some sikaflex 512 I use in the caravan).

Thanks

The 'hole' you want to plug is only filled with a foam plug, ( the seal itself is hollow ) so adding sealant to it would seal it,

You could always turn the Roof handle Hook to tighten the roof down a bit more once its locked down.

this would pull the seal closer to the window and in return it should make it more 'waterproof'

Thanks for the reply.

I did look at the roof handle hook but could not determin how to adjust it if at all. Some had mentioned seeing threads but I could not see any. How does it adjust, there seems to be a very small screw in the side of it.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Was hoping to have tried the sealent by now have not had the chance. It needs to be dry to do it.

Will do as soon as I can and let you know if it works.

Cheers
