Guest wiser
Hi, I'm a newish cabby owner and have just found a leak. I have trawled to forum to see if I can find a relevant solution but not sure. My leak is coming in on the passenger side where the rubber seal on the roof eets the rubber seal at the windscreen. . Using a jug of water and pouring it down the drain channel in the rubber, it seems to be coming out of the 'hole' in the middle. It does not do it on the other side. Is it ok to seal this with some mastic type sealant? ( I have some sikaflex 512 I use in the caravan). Thanks
Guest SiV6Si
The 'hole' you want to plug is only filled with a foam plug, ( the seal itself is hollow ) so adding sealant to it would seal it, You could always turn the Roof handle Hook to tighten the roof down a bit more once its locked down. this would pull the seal closer to the window and in return it should make it more 'waterproof'

I did look at the roof handle hook but could not determin how to adjust it if at all. Some had mentioned seeing threads but I could not see any. How does it adjust, there seems to be a very small screw in the side of it. Thanks again. Robin
Guest sully2501
wat u need to do mate is look at the hook, get some pliers and twist it so i goes in a bit then close up again. problem is if u do it to tight it creases the seal and dont solve anything. mine is leaking aswell. did u try the sealant. i need to do that aswell. let us know m8
Guest Marcia
Hello! Just wondering if Si's advice on the roof handles and Wiser's sealant solution would work on the mk4 as well?
Guest wiser
Hi, Was hoping to have tried the sealent by now have not had the chance. It needs to be dry to do it.
