As some of you may know iv been haveing a few problems with the car cutting out when im driveing or not starting and when it did cut out the battery and oil light on the dash would come on.

Well she isnt doing it as much but when she does do it the lights on the dash dont come on anymore (i think thats a good thing) but today when i was driveing i had the windscreen wipers on and the radio but everytime i put the indercaiters on all the electrics died for about 30 seconds then came on again but the car didnt die and my parking lights are brighter than my driveing lights, I think its the alternaiter on its way out or the battery or mabe both.

I hope someone can help.

Cheers Guys

It could be the voltage regulator playing up in the alternator.

Check with a voltmeter on the battery terminals to see if your getting 14.4 volts at the battery, the regulator is ok. If the voltage is lower than 13.6 volts or higher than 14.8 volts, its the regulator at fault.

Hope this helps

Cheers guys,

well iv checked all the fuses and connections and they all seem to be fine but the battery is reading at 13.4 volts but the straingest thing happend today all of my electrics bar cd player and central locking died, the only lights i have are my side lights and the windows will only work if i have the drivers door open, im thinking it might be a bad earth of broken wire in the door pannle but im not sure. Iv checked all of the fuses by the stearing wheel and they areall fine and in perfict working order, so im a bit stuck to say the least.
