Guest Cr8sh
Hello all, i'm having a bit of a nightmare with my temp gauge and rad fan not 100% working. I'm starting to run out of simple ideas as to solving it. this is what i've tryed so far. I've changed the thermostat which was near enough welded shut and still the fan doesn't kick in. The fan is working because when it overheats and stalls the car it comes on but only for roughly 5 secs. the water tank gets so hot that it bubbles out completely but the temp gauge remains below the white line. i'm hoping it isn't the head gasket, i don't think it is as there are no tell tail signs like milky substance in the oil cap, and i've lost no oil. i've ordered a new water pump which i'll be fitting tonight but apart from that i have no idea. I've combed this forum from top to bottom to find a solution and although there are some good post there never seems to be a solution update from the poster. Many thanks for taking the time to help out.

Guest Cr8sh
What Mk cab and what engine might help Paul No matter, fixed the problem, it was quite simple, i removed the temp control unit a dipped it in boiling water to test it was working and sure enough it wasn't, Went down my local AVP and picked a new unit up for £5 and now my overheating and fan problem is sorted. Thanks anyway.
