Well it's been a while since I've been on, but unfortunately my new job is keeping me very busy these days. However, I am in need of some help and so I find my self back on the forum.

My Mk6 cab has developed an annoying problem. sometimes after turning off the the ignition, all the electrics go, so no central locking, electric windows, clock and interior light, etc, nothing works, this usually last between 2-10 minutes and then everything works again. When I check the battery it is fully charged and charges when running. Does anyone have any ideas what the cause could be? I was thinking, maybe the battery was at fault, however I haven't changed it yet. I can't think of what else it could be, although it does seem to be getting more frequent.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

will it start again straight away or is it just ancillary circuits that are dead?

No everything goes, no ignition lights, absolutely dead.

the only thing i can think of is the battery or the battery terminals, as there are a few different feeds from there to different circuits in the car

or some sort of immobiliser maybe????previous owner bodge!!!

On further investigation it appears it could be the ignition relay (yellow), it seems to be worse when the whether is hot, I think it's sticking, just need to wait till it happens again to confirm. I have a mate who had a similar problem and it took him ages to figure it out.
