Guest steelcabby
HELLO, CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW YOU GET THE IGNITION BARREL OUT OF A MK4 CABBY? SOMEONE WANTS THE LOCKSET AND I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT. AND I DON'T WANNA BREAK THE OUTTER CASING TO GET IT OUT AS I'D RATHER KNOW HOW IT COMES OUT WITHOUT BREAKING IT OUT. HELP PLEASE

ianxr3i
If you want the ignition barrel only, Turn the key to position 1 & there should be a little lever that you need a little screwdriver to push in. You should be able to withdraw the barrel.

You should be able to withdraw the barrel. The last barrel i took out you removed the steering column shroud then you undo the 2 bolts that hold the barrel in place but i think they were headless bolts. hope thats some help Apologies if its not
Guest steelcabby
i'll have another look tomorrow guys. it looked to me that there was a pin on top and you should push it down and twist it out?. i'll give both ways a try tomorrow and see what happens thanks for your replies
