Guest jam
Hi All I've got a mk3 cabbie (Carb fed) that has had a mk4 dash conversion done prior to my ownership. However the rev counter has never worked, I have tried to get this working by running a wire from the negative side of the coil, as I have done in the past with cortinas/capris and the like, however i cannot find a spare wire on the back of the clockset that connects to the rev counter. I have tried every wire i can find with some amazing results, but no working rev counter. I know that the clockset is from a later mk4, with the larger warning lights at the top. Hoping you guys might have some suggestions as I am at a loss Thanks http://www.escortcabrioletclub.co.uk/forum...icons/icon9.gif
Guest Justin
Ok, now im not entirely sure about this, so it needs confirming by someone else, but i think whereas the mk 3 ran the rev counter off the coil, i think the mk4 ran from the back of the gearbox or something.. Needs confirming by someone with a mk4 though..

Guest SiV6Si
The rev counter on both the mk 4 and mk 3 ran from the Coil, Not directly but they ran from the coil, The mk 3 ran from the Blue / Yellow / Green box that was located behind the centre speaker cover. Mk 4 ran it directly from the coil pack. It runs from the Negative side IIRC.
