Guest jam Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Hi guys. Hope somone can help with some info Ihave a 1985 1600 Carb Cabbie which someone over the years has converted from a manual to an Auto. I would like to return the car to a manual Gearbox, but need some info on what i require to do the conversion. The car has been fitted a mk4 xr3i engine onto which a carb is fitted (Thats another story ) I know i would need a pedal box, linkages etc, what i really need to know is the flywheel clutch driveshaft side of things. Would the flywheel be a straight swap with the torque convertor. Would i need new driveshafts or will the existing ones fit a manual g/box. I have also heard that a mk4 g/box wont fit a mk3.
