Guest marcus
Only lasting way to do the job is cut it out and form a new bit of metal to the shape and weld it in, or if its only surface rust use a grinder to remove it, and lastly you can braze the holes up. Steve. no easy cheap way to do the job right

Guest gotty
I wash my rust with vinegar and a brush a couple of times aday untill it's no longer there and just left with nice clean metal or holes. Then treat metal with rust kill, zinc primer, and paint filler if needed. my last car i had 7 years and rust did not return to that part.
