Guest markeyboy
is the stereo wiring still in tact with the plugs on the end? if so the iso plugs will only go in one way and shouldnt be an issue, there are 2 lives for the stereo 1 that is a permanent live and one that is only live when the ignition is, iirc the colours vary for different years mks and models and is probably best to have a poke around with a multimeter just to be sure

Guest markeyboy
it depends if you have the plugs still attached to your car, if it has its alot easier to use the converter plugs, if ya havnt you may as well wire into the iso lead
Guest benny
you dont need conectors, just electricians tape, connect the negative of the stereo to the negative on the battery with a long wire then with the car off join the 2 live wires on the stereo together by twisting them the touch the rest of the wires till the the stereo lights up, mark that wire as battery live, then with the car turned on touch the other wires and again the stereo should light up, mark that one, then connect the car stereo leads accordingly, battery or memory live to the battery live and the other wire to the other live, then disconect the the long earth and use the earth wire at the back of the stereo, that way you stereo turns off when your car does and it keeps your radio stations in memory, job done easy haha

Guest ste
the red is permanent live the yellow is ignition live, on most aftermarket stereo's yellow is permanent live red ignition live so join yellow to red and red to yellow, if you wish the stereo to remember stuff Edited April 22, 2008 by ste
