Guest ragarse Posted April 15, 2008 Share Posted April 15, 2008 went to look at a mk4 cabby, guy tells me fuel pump is duff, no noise when key is turned, but its an efi engine and i am not sure if the efi pump is different to the mfi as this is the only one i have had. noe i have looked on ebay as you do and the only one i can see it says it goes in the petrol tank is this right or is that just the sender? as all the mk4 cabs i have had the fuel pump is strapped underneath. please help. thanx in advance. Guest benny Posted April 15, 2008 Share Posted April 15, 2008 every one ive seen yeah its been underneath at the back, not in the tank, have you checked the relay first, really easy way to check if the pump is working, connect a wire to the battery, then touch the live if it wurs the relay is bust new realy, job done, if not, there about 78quid ish, dead eady todo just watch the bracket doesnt fall to peices! Guest ragarse Posted April 16, 2008 Share Posted April 16, 2008 (edited) thanx a lot for your input fella's much appreciated. now i need to know where the relay is so i can check this if anyone knows & secondly where abouts on the tank is this thing situated top bottom or side? & what it looks like & how much am i looking at getting one for? & last of all is it a bugger of a job to do? thank you for your help! forgot to add will a mk5 one fit it? p.s the switch in the boot is depressed so i am informed. thanx again!
