Guest markeyboy
yep that is the mechanical injection unit i havnt seen a cone filter on this style setup before
Guest steelcabby
thats the metering unit mate. i also have never seem an induction kit for the MFI xr3i setup. your best off getting a k'n panel filter and drilling some holes on the right side of the casing which hangs underneath. also a few pipes that supplie cold air to those holes would be good
Admin Paul Posted March 30, 2008 Admin Share Posted March 30, 2008 You can only put induction kit on EFI not MFI mate, the only other way is a KN panel filter Paul
Guest jonnyc
Nope you can put an induction kit on an mfi xr3i, i have the same engine and pipercross do one for the car. It's not your conventional style induction kit in a cone shape its more of a triangle. Bastically the bottom half of the airbox is removed and this triangle sits there acting as support for the top half whilst still providing the bracket for the fuel filter. It's a great mod on the mfi xr3i and what a difference in terms of sound and power! Due to its shear size and placement its just far enough from the block not to absorb too much heat. Hope this helps i think the code is PK022 and was £80-90 last time i bought mine. Jonathan
Guest steelcabby
i'd probably stick with the k'n panel mate, cheaper and effective. keeps the box on it then which will sheild from any engine heat
