Mk4 Induction Problem

sup guys? well i have a litle problem with my friend cuz we poop the hood from his escort mk4 xr3i in order to change the air filter to a k&n air conduction but we realize that is something in the way that we dont have any ideia wat it is.. we ill mark in this photo. hope u have a solution to solve this..

thats the metering unit mate. i also have never seem an induction kit for the MFI xr3i setup. your best off getting a k'n panel filter and drilling some holes on the right side of the casing which hangs underneath. also a few pipes that supplie cold air to those holes would be good

Nope you can put an induction kit on an mfi xr3i, i have the same engine and pipercross do one for the car. It's not your conventional style induction kit in a cone shape its more of a triangle. Bastically the bottom half of the airbox is removed and this triangle sits there acting as support for the top half whilst still providing the bracket for the fuel filter. It's a great mod on the mfi xr3i and what a difference in terms of sound and power! Due to its shear size and placement its just far enough from the block not to absorb too much heat.

 

Hope this helps i think the code is PK022 and was £80-90 last time i bought mine.

i'd probably stick with the k'n panel mate, cheaper and effective. keeps the box on it then which will sheild from any engine heat
