As i am restoring this car its currently a xr3i, the engine has gone :eric: and as i am replacing it i could just keep it on the injection system or i could go to the carb setup.

the reason i question it because i want reliability, i want to start the car and i want it to turn over and fire up. I personally think a cvh engine on a carb with manual choke is more realiable but i am not sure, what is your opinion?

the engine going in has being gas flowed and piper cam'd. The cab has recently had a full janspeed exhaust system installed, just need an ashley manifold. So with these mods i should see the engine pushing a healthy 100bhp. I was planning on using a stock xr2/xr3 cvh carb the 32/34 one.

if i wanted to put the carb in, i would want to run 40's myself, but i think the injection one would be a better route mate. or you could even drop a rs turbo lump in it. for more power. 132bhp standard.

all is reliable until you start messing with it in my opinion. but if you want abit of power and also want to keep it reliable, i'd drop a rs turbo lump in. chip it and raise the boost to say 12 psi. should see about 140.

all drops straight in too.

I have not kept a mk4 escort as a daily driver before. I have kept a mk2 golf that had a weber 32/34 and that was great, started everyday no matter what. Thats why i thought maybe the cvh engine is better on the weber setup.

I am not too sure about the injection system and i have heard they are not that realiable. Thats why i am asking these questions in here becaue i do not know.
