Guest Justin
got a problem with my headlights.. when i turn the switch to side lights, i get side lights. When i turn it to dipped beam, it dims.. Main beam is fine. Checked fuses in fuse box and checked bulbs. both seem fine. presumably though if bulbs had popped it would affect side lights or main beam too wouldnt it.. Im guessing an new indicator stalk would fix it, but thats a guess.. Anyone got any ideas? Justin

Guest matt-the-dj
if memory serves me correctly , put a 12v supply on terminal 85+86 which should be the coil. then use as multimeter to see if you get a connection between the switch contacts, failing that you can see if the coil is good by checking the resistance of it and compare with a similar one in the fusebox. hope this helps. Guest Justin
getting a new switch off ebay, cos mate said it could be the switch.. though on way home this evening, tried dipped headlights and they worked! most odd.. So its an intermittant problem now.. great! lol! Reckon i ought to swop the indicator switch and the relay and hope that will fix it? Or just the switch? Guest SG1
Mate I had the exact same problem. With the lights on as you would for dipped (2nd turn of switch),push the relays a bit and see if they work. Did it for mine, and it worked but I had to keep doing it so I wedged a bit of paper in between the two and also between fusebox and outer realy, and they have been fine ever since. Want it sorted properly one day but at least it`s ok now. Edited February 17, 2008 by SG1

Guest SG1
Yeah mate, the white ones at the back of the fuse box. It`s a fair while after your last response so you may have sorted it now,but let us know whatever any. It`s always good to have the solution to the problem and may help someone else later on.
