Indicators And Fuse Blowing

I have a mk5 and sometimes the indicator fuse blows, it seems to do it if im indicating right and turn sharp right.

The strange thing is it doesnt do it while there flashing. I will indicate, turn, they self cancel and then when i come to use it next time theres no indicators, the fuse has blown.

Anyone came across this before? the first thing i will look at is replacing the relay in case this has a problem. I have checked the wiring and cannot see anything wrong.

Anyone have a spare relay i can buy and anyone have any ideas to what could be causing it?

thanks

Forgot to mention its intermittent, wont do it for a bit, then it might do it 2 times in one day.

Well I know nothing of these things, but could it be a loose wire inside the steering wheel cowling maybe?

Getting pulled when turning?

I dunno,just a guess nate.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Steve.

as said you either have a bad earth, loose wire, or a wire earthing that is not supposed to..... trace the wires from your indicators stalks down

badger I think your right in trying to swap out the flasher unit..local breakers will have loads.

sandman..I would be more concerned wiv why original live to stereo was no longer live, fix that and putm it back as it should be and the indicator problem will disappear
