Guest tigertom
New to the site - but here goes! My Mk5 1993 xr3i cabriolet suddenly cut out on me this summer. Having been recovered, my local mechanic tried to find the fault and ended up 'hotwiring' the fuel pump to make her fire. He was advised that the fuse box was at fault so I got a replacement from eBay and had it fitted but it made no difference. The battery was draining overnight and so my mechanic found a relay to do with the time delay on the interior lights that was causing the problem. the car started and ran fine but without the above working. this did not matter on a pracitcal basis but I want to get her back to good order. He got advice again and was told that the door lock control unit was at the root of all this. The coded is 91AG14A093 AB. My questions to all you knowledgeable folk: - does this sound right and will replacing the door control unit fix all the other problems? - would a unit coded 91AG14A093 CC work just as well? Thanks in advance!
