Guest micxr3i Posted November 6, 2007 Share Posted November 6, 2007 hi all im just starting out to change my mk4 xr3i cabby to a rst i have the engine block , intercooler , turbo and manifold now i know i need a full set of rst pipes , gearbox , distributor cap , charge carrier , fuel pump , induction kit , bigger brakes and thats all i really know i was wandering if you lot could help by adding to that list stuff ive missed out also its a s1 engine and i have the mfi xr engine so would i be able to use any off the xr engine? cheers mic. :icon_salut_gb: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest steelcabby Posted November 6, 2007 Share Posted November 6, 2007 i think the heads are the same, but not sure. as for the rest, you can't use anything. fuel pumps are the same. you need the metering unit from the rs turbo. the oil cooler. inlet and exhaust manifold, the wiring loom will have to be changed with an rs turbo one. easy job. i think thats about it mate. oh and the ecus, the black fuel one and the silver management one. its a very easy convertion to do. are you going to rebuild the engine before you put t in?? i would. save you having to rip it to bits again. :WAITINGemote: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest steelcabby Posted November 6, 2007 Share Posted November 6, 2007 (edited) s2 one will be fine. i think the pipe arrangment in to the s1 and s2 metering units are ever so slightly different. but they fit he same, if that makes sense. my s2 metering unit had a buggered diaphram in it. so i got another one from a s1 and fit it stright on. no problems what so ever. it just needed a damn good setup. which i did myself Edited November 6, 2007 by steelcabby Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
