Guest robman1
Last night i found i couldnt start my car for ages and ages, then it fired up, off i drove parked off it went, and then came back 10mins later to find it wouldnt start atall. it was turning over but not starting, ive had fuel pump relay problems before but that was sorted by AA bloke a while back, but we tampered with it and put a live feed from the battery onto it and it started fine, but as soon as the live feed was gone it cut out, so on we went to check fusebox OMG the fuse for the injection had completely melted away and taken the box with it around where it sat! changed the fuse after gettin all melted plastic out and then started and ran fine! next thing i know while im driving home is engine cuts again - straight to the fuse and it had melted again into a molten goo!! lol its a 20Amp jobby and AA bloke came to say jesus **** u need a new fuse box thats had it now, i was like yeh well done i need to get home though!! so he pushed the two pins for the fuse back together and put a fuse in, which got me home and to work fine, but the thing is what has caused it to melt as there is obvioulsy still a problem there?? It will help if i add that i had put on last thursday a new uprated fuel pump!! Is it drawing too much current? the fuse did not just blow just melted and stayed intact?? AA blokey reckoned it was either that or because the connections were wide apart it may have been arcing?? Its a Turbo engine as some of you may know! Any help is much appreciated!! Cheers in advance
