Zetec Cam Changing...

i am considering changing the cams i my 1800 zetec for 2.0 cams. how easy is it to do? do need to change the followers/lifters (do i ned to get the followers/lifters form the donor engine)? do i need to change the bolts that hold the cams in place? what about re-assembly. any tips would be great? how much can i expect to pay for 2.0 cams at a tat yard?

they are a stright swap m8, prob be looking between 10 and 20 quid from scrappers.

 

make sure that the cam bolts and holders go bk in the same order

i have been reading haynes, and it suggests taing the followers formthe donor engine too. is this the case? do i need to use new cam bolts?

i think the cam bolts are good for a few tightenings, didnt replace mine n e way,

very interesting as i am bidding on some on ebay but im clueless so come on guys giv us an idiots proof explination 4 me

Pretty simple to do Enzo, if you get stuck, give a me shout and I'll come and give you a hand.

 

Going to do mine soon, cam belt needs changing, so thought I'd do it all in one go.
