Guest Brett
Hi ! On my Mk4 I have a set of spot lights which work (because I have tested them) but are currently not conneted. Can I connect them to high beam cable on each side or is this likely to cause an overload or other problems. If this isnt the best way to do it, can somebody please advise Cheers! Guest markeyboy
not sure if it would overload your circuit by connecting your spots to your existing lights, you could run them through a relay and use the power from the lights as a switch to turn the relay on to control the lights. Guest Dazzaas
wired my spots on my mk4 directly to hlights worked fine used to eat switches later on but thats cos had 100w bulbs in spots and 80/100w in headlights nice and bright though used to cost me switch every 3 months
Guest ZIGGYXR3I
dont know wat model you have but av you checked to see if your car has the spot light wires on the loom they could be tucked in or taped up they are under rad between the head lights... run along with alternator wiring............its a male and female bullet like connection as on your spots....failing that i'm not that good witth car electrics........... Escort Cabriolet Club
Do what Markey said mate, get a relay, wire it to the battery and the high beam on the head lights, this way they get there power from the battery and just get swiched on via the high beam !!! ..........and look for the existing wireing if its there !!!
