Exhaust Question

Right guys and girls hope you`re all ok. :wave:

 

I`m looking to change the exhaust on mk4 xr3i cab for an aftermarket system all being well if i can get stainless steel tubing made by myself possibly dual outlet like the crude diagram below. :ohmy:

Looking at the original on my cab from the downpipe there is a silencer relatively straight away then nothing until it gets to the back box thankfully no cat to sort out yyyiiipppeee!!!!!! :laugh:

 

can the first silencer be fully removed from the exhaust system or is it there to aid back pressure etc.

 

Any advice would be great thanks

yea you can just have the one box at the back, but it all depends what you aim to gain from it all..a noisey exhaust or to increase performance...if performance, you do need to upgrade your air intake system as well..say good bye to fuel economy lol

keep your eyes peeled on ebay there is a fella doing them for around £70, after all said & done is it worth the agro of diong it yourself??
