Guest ragtop Posted August 12, 2007 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had this problem or maybe have an idea as to why my car wont start. I have just changed the ignition barrel for a new one that was matched to my key so i shouldnt have any problems. However after i put in new barrel i turn the key and the red light by the clock flashes as the engine trys to start. Is this the immobiliser stopping the engine starting? I dont see why this is happening as all i did was take out one screw to take off the black ring that surrounds the barrel and replaced it. oh well at least im nearly there been starting it with a screw driver for a month lol. Ill have another look now. Yep back how it was. Think i might have to bypass the immobiliser somehow. Ill have another look tommorrow when its lighter. Ill have another look tommorrow when its lighter. Think ive sorted problem. Next time ill take leads off battery whilst i do any electrical work lol.
