Guest russ1985
Hi everyone, :big_wave: Hope everyone had a wicked time at ford fair if you went, Sadly i coulnt make it due to family problems. Anyways, Ive just finished my mk4 turbo project an its got its mot on fri (Bring on sat Nite!!!) an i seem to have two small problems: 1)Washer pump does not work, ive taken it off an wired it straight to the battery an its fine, ive tried looked for fuse but there doesnt seem to be one for the pump, is there a relay somewhere? or is there a way of testing the switch? 2)Fuel Gauge is fine when car is idleing but when you rev the engine the gauge goes all the way up, let it idle and it reads correctly, then when i put my foot on the brake the gauge then goes all the way down to zero. I thought this may be the sender unit, but this all happens when the car is standing still!!! Cheers peeps Russell

Guest sjc
i think (hope) all cabs are wired as mk3 cos they changed everthing in 88 for rear wash wipes whcih obviously dont apply. if they didnt change the wiring, or yours is pre 88, it is switched on the earth side so to test the switch in situ earth the Bk wire at the pump, this will short out the switch. the drawing shows the pump fed from fuse 2?? atb mick oh, if it is earth it may fix your clock problem as it sounds like you have some back feed from other circuits
