Its the same with Mk5a, Mk5b and Mk6, they will fit each other, Mk3 and 4 dont fit Mk5's or 6's and vice versa !!! To Sir Pip, there should me a nut on top of your pump mate, take it off and use a small funnel to top it up, as for the fluid, most steering and brake fluids should do, if in doubt get the grade from your user book or go to a motor factors !!! Guest Eggsy Posted August 1, 2007 Share Posted August 1, 2007 pip what you need to do is lossend the key on the side so the roof comes down manually, leave the roof down, undo the nut ontop of the pump & remove, roof up/down a few times manually, then top up slowly withe the correct fluid, I used a 1 of our baby's syringes as the fluid goes in very slowly. & if that dont work buy a replacement cog of here it may have snapped inside the pump Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Escort Cabriolet Club Posted August 5, 2007 Share Posted August 5, 2007 how long to fit a hood if u no wot u r doing If you take your time and don't rush it Pip it takes 20 mins to take out the interior trim, (rear bench and quater cards) and there are only a few bolts holding the roof in once the rear heated screen wires and rams are un-cliped, should take 10 - 15 mins, make sure you have an extra pair of hands to help lift it out (Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim, help !!!) fitting is the reverse, make sure you remember where each screw and bolt goes, you should be done in an hour or so !!!
