  1. what car is it engine etc, xr3i will fit turbo set up slightly different i think with regards to anti roll bar set up front and rear..you will need to check the front roll bar mounting bushes they did 2 sizes 22mm and 24mm but will say on the side of your old ones, i might stand corrected on all of this but hope it helps what bushes are you replacing them with?

  2. UPDATE: does anyone now what the small blue relay under drivers side dash does.

    i dont think its the stalk as it works to control the other light settings as normal.

    rear lights are working as normal.

    when the side lights are on, if i remove a mains bulb or fuse both headlights go out and sides light as normal, so its getting a power feed from some where what relays control the light circuits any help will be great ive traced the wiring loom all the way to the fuse box all clean contacts and no breaks so must lay further back any ideas.

  3. hi everyone i have a problem on my mk4 cab

     

    when i turn the side lights on the main bulbs light up dim as well, the when turn on main they go brighter like normal and full beam the same brighter still its just the fact the main lights light with the side lights ive now re ndone all h4 conections sidelight connections and stripped the loom back to the earthpoints and all look fine any ideas as im now running out of the and mot due next few days

  4. hi been a while since used my mk 4 cab but tried the windscreen washer button and never worked, so stripped down couldnt find any problems, now works only when wiper switch is down, is this normal or should it work anytime the button is pressed.

  5. hi alan cheers mate, beging to hate this car now just tried fitting new lines, phoned black dimond for some advice and all i got was "im just sales we reccomend you get them fited by a qualified professional thats done them before " thanks lol really helps me. have another go tomorrow, think mk3 might be different out of all the mk 4s on here . lol, i was reading about your car last night on a website loads of pictures and posts by you from the start to finish looks really good, have you seen how many f40 kits are about now theres loads on web alot in other countrys but still few over here. makes me want to sell now and do somthing different. you still enjoying your ride.

  6. hi everyone need some help re fitting new lines to the car but been off for a while and i forgot where they go on the master cylinder and the rear brake bias vave by the fuse box side of the car, if some one can post a picture or a quick description would be really good help thank you. its mk 4 efi non abs its manly where they go after the master cylinder and then which ones left and right to the rear from bias thanks again i know its cold out there but 5 min of your time will save me 5 days work lol thank you

  7. thank you for the help at last someone who has used them, thought it was just me doing it. ye my car is lowered and widened never noticed problems with standard bar when it was fitted but then ive never heard of the back of car being tracked, only front, do you take it to any place that do track in, and will they have a clue about how to set it up. lol

  8. hi everyone quick update, brake lines now been redone just need bending and putting back on, after buying copper nickle as advised by number of people was having difficulty trying to flare the ends it was to hard and kept pushing through the tool tried 3 differnt tools. so have now done them in copper my uncle came to do them as i was struggling for time but all pipes where flared in 20min it was so easy so my advice is to do your own if you have the time and save some money but would advise using copper not the copper nickle pipes as so much easyer and a tip is to deburr it does help. let you know when fitted, thanks for the help and advise. willing to pass it on if needed.

    and can i do it in 2 lots front and back , cant strip full car not enough jacks and stands.

  10. hi everyone currently striping and rebuilding cab, for last few mots my copper brake lines have had adviserys so thought i would make some new ones never done it befor so am just looking for a bit of help cutting flaring and bending, thanks for any advice on tools tequniques, and sizes,

  11. hi , im no mechanic but id be looking more towards your brake disc's or wheel balance/damaged. unless you've hit somthing or kerb then wont be steering rack, that would be more knocking when turning. i think.

  12. hi everyone, im now looking at converting my 1990 1.6efi cab in to a 2.0 zetec turbo, but as ive never run turbo im a bit confused on things and especialy building and fitting a turbo engine myself for first time. has anyone done this on here and is willing to answer a few questions for me. ive got the base engine (2.0 silver top mondeo) ive got all the 1.8 zetec escort bits to swap over, im buying the pistons and rods from PEC. and running omex 600 ecu. inlet manifold is rover turbo.

    ok what manifold will fit ive got a escort rs turbo and i know holes need drilling for it, but was thinking after market stainless steel tubular,or will a focus rs one fit, can you buy them off the shef or will they all be custom fit.

    ok again new to all this and bit confused with the different turbos what will fit escort manifold t3 , t4, ,t34, would cosworth fit and again would a focus one fit,

  13. well building engine this year to drop in it but going to get it mot taxed next month just with the standard engine, so i can drive iot to bodyshops and engine places, get it moving for first time in 3 years, and rits really just to keep my no claims bouns alive as this year is last and will lose 7 years. but im in nno rush to build engine need alot of things for it, and money not about for that.
