  4. You can buy the kit from a shop for £14.99 but what rating does it have ?

The parts I have listed are for a high powerd system of up to 3000 watts !

The RCA leads are top dollar Markey, well worth it, and at 5m long theres pleanty to snake round the car !!!

  5. Hi Peeps !!! :big_wave:

I went on eaby the other day to buy an amp wiring kit for my Rover, there are many to choose from, the cheap ones are, well, cheap, they only run small installs, the more powerfull ones are a bit on the pricey side for my taste, so I thought about buying the components I need seperatly, this way, I could save a few quid and get exactly what I want !!!

I have an ALPINE head unit with one SUB pre-out and two standard pre-outs, I will only use the SUB and one other, I also need it to run a 1600w amp, so some nice heavy gauge cable was needed !!!

    I got the following bits:

Premium Double Sheilded RCA leads, 5m for £6.99 !!!

All you need now is a remote cable, normal 12v electrical cable does the trick !!!

    TOTAL COST: £16.38 !!!

Hope this helps Guys and Gals !!!

    Later,

    Charlzy

  6. Below is just a basic wiring diagram on how I wired up mine !!!

Fig 1 - Your Basic power cap !

Fig 2 - How to DIS-CHARGE your power cap, they hold quite a jolt so get a 12v car bulb and connect it to the cap, if its not lit its fine, if it lights, wait for it to die out !

Fig 3 - This is how your basic power cap is wired, take the Negative and the Possitive striaght through there respective teminals !

Fig 4 - My power cap came with a terminal block to add on to the power nodes, here is how I wired it !

What ever you do, DON'T take the battery positive to the cap and then the negative to the Amp and then amp to earth, it will damage the battery amp and cap !!!
