I live in France. I own a 1993 Escort 16v, have had it for 8 years and the automatic opening of the roof has never worked, no pump motor sound, nothing. So I've always put the roof down manually which I've been happy to do. It does come up and close ok. Have done fluid topups occasionally when necessary but am not competent enough to diagnose/repair/renew anything to do with the actual hydraulics. Since the hood needs renewing and I'm planning on getting this done when next in the UK, can anyone recommend a garage or business that would check & repair the hydraulics before a new hood is fitted so that the roof cycle works as it should? I have sourced a new-hood supplier but online research has not brought up anyone who could attend to the hydraulics. Ideally somewhere in southern England - Dorset/Hampshire/Sussex?
